Message from Campus Minister & Board Chair

The Winston-Salem Wesley Foundation United Methodist Campus Ministry is deeply grateful for the many ways in which we receive support from students, other board members, parents, those on the college campuses, and others. From Wesley “large group” meetings on Thursday nights to small group Bible studies, from weekend spiritual and leadership development retreats to annual Spring Break mission trips, from campus intramural athletics to community service projects, students involved in the ministries of Wesley are active, engaged, and dedicated to serving God. Your involvement enables the ministry to continue offering a variety of such opportunities for students to be touched by God, and in turn to touch others. Wesley’s leadership is very thankful for the support and assistance you provide. At Wesley, our theme is “Ask, Grow, Serve, Belong.” These words, though simple and succinct, accurately portray the breadth of this ministry to, with, and by our students. As we serve the three different campuses that constitute our local Wesley Foundation—Wake Forest University, Salem College, and the North Carolina School of the Arts—we see first-hand the unique ways students on each campus live out the Wesley motto. While each campus is distinctive, the students encountered through Wesley all ask deep, searching questions regarding their faith, and are very eager to learn more about themselves, their beliefs, and the way the two intersect. Building upon their faith foundation, they also continue to reach beyond themselves, serving their local, national, and even international communities. The sense of community among the students is alive and vibrant. It is truly a blessing to be a part of each student’s journey, as well as the shared strength of their collective faith experience.
